LACMAN POŠIP NJIVE
Lacman Pošip Njive is a late harvest, semi-sweet wine made of 100% Pošip grape variety, from a single vineyard in the oldest, continuously farmed agricultural plot on the planet, the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Stari Grad Ager (384BC).
The Pošip grape is the most important Dalmatian white grape variety. It is found mostly on the island of Korčula, but in many other wine-growing regions as well.
The wine has a deep amber color. Pronounced intensity on the nose. On the first nose, it shows the aromas of tropical fruit, most notably lychee, but also candied fruit, orange peel and fresh herbal notes of cut grass.
On the palate, the acidity keeps the wine very vibrant and fresh. Perceived sweetness is not overwhelming, just nice and rounded. It has a medium body with very well-integrated alcohol. Wine is lush and oily and has a long, mildly sweet, and smooth finish.
This wine should be enjoyed slightly chilled, at temperatures between 9 and 12 degrees. It can be paired with many dishes, from cheese platters and charcuteries to fig and date-based dry cookies. Try it with a traditional Imotska torta or with Hvarski Paprenjak, a traditional honey-based cookie from the island of Hvar.
